Six Space Saving Tips When Packing Your Luggage
One problem with traveling is not having enough luggage space. Here are some space saving tips that might come in handy.
1. If you must bring or need a sweater or a blazer on your trip, then it will save you enough space if you wear it rather than pack it. Sweaters and blazers can be very versatile; you can wear this on top of almost anything be it a tube top, a ruffled blouse or a plain t-shirt.
On the other hand, if you need more than one or two pairs of shoes, then do not forget to include the ones you are wearing when you count the pairs. Wearing some clothing items while traveling can really help you save a lot of luggage space, leaving enough room for other items that you might need along the way.
2. Most luggage bags have secret pockets and additional pockets both on the inside and the outside. In order for you to have enough space as well as save some, utilize these hidden yet helpful features. Avoid losing small items like keys and coins by placing them inside these pockets.
In addition, you can also place your handkerchiefs, guidebooks and maps inside these pockets. Do not also forget the outside pockets. Most luggage bags have extra pockets located on the outside; you can use these pockets to hold documents and other items that can fit inside it, saving you enough space inside your luggage.
3. You can reduce the size of your folded shirt by placing it inside vacuum sealed bags. These types of bags work by reducing the air inside it, thus compressing your clothing without wrinkling it. Air inside the bag is removed through suction or vacuum. This also keeps your clothes from getting topsy turvy inside your luggage. It will help you identify it easier once you unpack, so you no longer have to dive into your suitcase in order to find a particular pair of pants or polo shirt.
4. Rolling some of your clothing items can also help you save a lot of space. Roll items like undershirts, jeans, night gowns and pajamas. Stuff these items on the bottom part of your luggage bag. Rolling reduces the space these items take up leaving you some more space for other items.
5. If you need to bring items that can be repacked like medications, vitamins and some beauty products, please do so. These items are usually placed in containers than can be bit bulky and space consuming.
To save space, repack these items. Take only the number of tablets that you need for the trip and ditch the container. Placing beauty products in travel size tubes and bottles can also help save some space inside your suitcase.
6. Aside from utilizing the inside and outside pockets of your suitcase, you can also use some items to contain other items. For example you can stuff socks, handkerchiefs and neckties into your favorite pair of shoes or you can use your shoes to contain toiletries like soap.
Just because you have enough space in your luggage doesn't mean you can pack as many as you want. Always keep in mind the weight limit that you have to abide with.
